Ahmet is born in 1962 in Develi, a small town in the Turkish district of Kayseri. In 1988 he moves to the Netherlands and works for a long time in a business for car parts. Ahmet lives with his wife in Amsterdam North and has three children. The family Uyar is a member of several mosques in Amsterdam North. They are not members of the Aya Sofya mosque association, but hope to be visiting the mosque a few times a year. Even though Ahmet no longer works, he and his wife are generous and it touches him deeply that he can contribute to the realisation of the Westermoskee, and leave something behind for his children.
