Haci Karacaer (Aksaray, Turkey 1963) arrives in the Netherlands as a young man in 1982. He studies computer science at the University of Utrecht. In the late eighties, he becomes active in the Milli Görüş department in Amsterdam. From the nineties onwards he is mainly concerned with PR and media contacts, and becomes involved in handling relations with with the district council. As director of Milli Görüş in De Baarsjes, he organises meetings in the mosque, also for homosexuals. His headstrong behaviour creates friction with some of the board members. The Milli Görüş headquarter in Cologne is not happy when he is asked to speak on behalf of Milli Görüş in Germany.
