Henk van Waveren (Hilversum, 1953) becomes a respected politician in district De Baarsjes. In 1995, he follows Freek Salm as district mayor and in later years he develops his own style of handling the file ‘Riva terrain’. By doing of housing director Frank Bijdendijk, relations with Üzeyir Kabaktepe of Milli Görüş improve. Together they develop the plan for the Westermoskee. Van Waveren is on good terms with everyone until his departure in 2006.
